It may be February, but the cold weather and freezing temperatures continue on. Environment Canada released two more snowfall warnings this morning for the Greater Vancouver area. As Narcity previously reported, we were expecting to get more snow this week after multiple snow flurries in the area last week.

Environment Canada confirms that snowfall is going to hit areas in the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver. There currently are no other weather warnings for the rest of the province, apart from the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area.

Environment Canada issued two warnings this morning at 7:29 AM. The first warning is for Metro Vancouver. The snowfall warning is in effect for Metro Vancouver, northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge.

This also includes southeast Metro Vancouver including Surrey and Langley. The weather statements issued warn that the areas will receive 5 to 10 cm of snow today.

The second weather warning was issued this morning at 7:29 AM and includes Fraser Valley central and west. This includes Chilliwack and Abbotsford. 

Environment Canada confirms "a frontal system will spread snow to the south coast today. Snow may become mixed with rain this afternoon before changing back to snow tonight. The eastern sections of Metro Vancouver and western Fraser Valley can expect snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm through tonight. The snow will taper off early Wednesday morning."

The government agency also asks that locals adjust their driving according to the changing road conditions. Visibility could be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
