Canada's Terry Fox Gets A Heartwarming Google Doodle By A Toronto-Based Artist
Canadians have been lacing up on September 13 ever since.
One of Canada's icons is being honoured and remembered around the world today thanks to the new Terry Fox Google Doodle.
On Sunday, September 13, an illustration by Toronto-based artist Lynn Scurfield replaced the Google logo on the home page of their search engine.
Every year in September, the whole school would take part of the day off and walk around the baseball diamond in honor of his marathon.
It marks the day that the first everRun happened back in 1981, and so many Canadians grew up learning about him and his Marathon Of Hope since then.
After he lost his leg to cancer, he wanted to run across Canada to raise money for research and get $1 from.
Although he sadly died in June 1981, he inspired a movement that raisedand people still run for him today.
