This one is for all the stargazers out there. This November 2019, Vancouver will have the pleasure of witnessing a glorious full moon that will light up the night sky. The Vancouver full beaver moon will emerge from November 11 through to November 12. Not only will the special full moon illuminate the city of Vancouver, but it will also cast long, beautiful rays, similar to those cast by the sun.

You might be wondering what a full beaver moon is and how it got its name. According to the Old Farmer’s Atlantic, a beaver moon is a big, bright full moon that illuminates the night sky in November. It got its name from “the Algonquin tribes and colonial Americans” who used the month of November to set beaver traps to make sure they had enough warm coats for the winter. The full beaver moon made setting the traps possible as it lightened up the night for the trappers to do their thing.

If you're a fan of jaw-dropping moon viewing, you're going to like this. The full beaver moon will not only sit high in the sky in all its bright glory, but it will also cast shadows in the Northern Hemisphere that make the light split like sun rays.

We want to make sure you get the most of this awe-inspiring sight, so you should probably get your calendars ready. The beaver moon will be the fullest over Vancouver on Tuesday, November 12 at 5:37 a.m. local time, according to the Old Farmer’s Atlantic. If you’re more of a night owl, you’ll be able to see a nearly-full moon and a whole lot of celestial glow the night before on Monday, November 11.

In order to get the most of your stargazing in Vancouver, you’re going to want to get as far away from city lights as possible. Therefore, you might want to venture away from downtown and into the more remote areas of the city. Or, wild idea, maybe even step outside city limits.

It's also not a bad deal that Vancouver is filled with amazing beaches to lounge on while you stare up at the sky. There's only one difficult decision: are you an early bird or a night owl? Whether you view the moon sipping wine on your patio on Monday night or during an early morning stroll at the crack of dawn on Tuesday, you will be in complete awe because this moon is going to be huge. Not just in size, but also in splendour.

If you're looking for a cute date idea, you've found it. If you're just looking for a reason to get outside this fall, look no further. Whatever you do, do not miss this epic full moon.
