Vigil Held In Montreal For Missing 10-Year-Old Boy
Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou has been missing since March 2018.
Earlier today, there was a vigil held in Montreal for the two month anniversary of the disappearance of Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou.
Ariel was last seen on March 12th entering Parc des Bateliers. Surveillance cameras confirm that the 10-year-old entered the park but there was no sign of him leaving.
“We have found absolutely nothing. No item of clothing, no accessory that belongs to this young boy, so we need to keep hope alive,” said Pina Arcamone from Réseau @EnfantsRetour /Missing Children's Network. https://t.co/unNC3GbU7u #ArielJeffreyKouakou #arielkouakou #mtl— Anouk Charles (@anoukcharles) May 9, 2018
Since then, his family and friends, Montreal police and concerned citizens have scoured over the land searching for Ariel.
The vigil began at 11 AM at Ariel's family's church, Sainte-Odèle Church. The vigil was held in honour of Ariel and to show support that the community and family of Jeffrey have not given up on finding him.
On Wednesday, the Missing Children's Network and borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville announced a new campaign that will help Ariel's family keep the search for him alive.
The park where Ariel was last seen, parallels the Rivière-des-Prairies. Police believe that Ariel may have fallen into the river and drowned, but Ariel's family insists that he was abducted.
They are still offering a $100,000 reward to anyone who helps bring Ariel home alive.
