If you received a text from a friend yesterday with a photo of a shoe and the question "what colours do you see?" you are not alone. On October 13, 2019, a picture began circulating online and has been stumping people around the world. No one can agree on what colour this shoe is and the viral vans shoe has got people questioning everything they've ever known.

The viral image shows a person holding a single, two-tone Vans-brand shoe. Some people are saying it looks grey and teal, others are saying it looks pink and white, and some people are falling in the middle, saying it looks pink and teal. It's strange, it's confusing, and it's all too familiar. Does anyone remember "the dress"?

The dress that blew up the internet back in 2015, with no one being able to agree upon whether it was white and gold or blue and black. According to SLATE, the phenomenon has to do with the way our eyes see colour and light. We're willing to bet "the dress" debates ruined friendships around the world. Maybe not that extreme, but it certainly started some confusing arguments in which everyone was certain that what they saw was real.

Now that the world has recovered from "the dress," this pesky Vans shoe has surfaced to tear us apart once more. On October 13, the queen herself, Lizzo, posted the photo on Instagram with the caption "I SEE GREY & TEAL BUT MY WHOLE TEAM SEES PINK & WHITE HELP."

Naturally, the post has completely blown up. As of now, there are nearly 40,000 comments on the post with people who see either one colour combination or the other. Grey and teal, or pink and white. It's a world divided.

At the top of Lizzo's post, it reads "Right and left brain dominant, if ur right brain is dominant, u will see combination of point and white color, are if ur left brain is dominant, I will see it in grey and green color. Try with ur loved ones, very interesting."

Interesting, indeed. Lizzo wasn't the only one to post the photo, as we said, it's blowing up.

There are some tweets circulating to confirm the actual colour of the shoe. For example, a tweet from the shoe's owner herself. As it turns out, the shoes are pink and white.

Now we don't mean to rock the boat, but we 100% thought they were grey and teal. While we're sharing secrets, we saw "the dress" as white and gold.

If you don't want to talk about Canadian politics with your relatives, this might be another heated discussion topic to avoid. You might need a long vacation or a Netflix binge after trying to wrap your mind around this madness.
