Canadians are stereotyped as being nice, kind people. And while that's definitely true in some cases, that doesn't stop people from taking the opportunity to roast politicians. #WhyScheerLost is a trending topic on Twitter and the tweets are ruthless.\nCanadians are taking to Twitter to give their reasons as to why they think Scheer lost the federal election on October 21. #WhyScheerLost is trending as people continue to tweet about Canada's election results.\nAnd people are taking the opportunity to roast Scheer for his politics, his campaign and his opinions.\nA week before the election Scheer was confident that the Conservatives would win a majority government.\n"We're going to get a majority government," Scheer told reporters multiple times on October 15 after getting asked about what his government would do in a minority situation.\nBut as polls closed across the country on election day and the results came in, that majority didn't happen for the Conservatives or any other party.\nThe Conservatives came in second place behind the Liberals. Scheer's party won 121 seats in the election which wasn't enough to form a majority or even beat out the Liberals, who won 157 seats, for a minority or for Scheer to become Prime Minister.\nSome Canadians are now using #WhyScheerLost to ruthlessly put down Scheer and while the tweets are harsh, they're also really funny.\nOne person tweeted that Scheer lost because "he doesn't watch Schitt's Creek" while another said, "the man didn't have a clear position on any major issue to speak of."\nAnother person said he lost because Elizabeth May said he would during one of the debates.\n#WhyScheerLost he doesn't watch @SchittsCreek— Sitecore (Cana)Diana (@SitecoreDiana) October 26, 2019\nBecause he’s anti-choice, hostile to LGTBQ, supported Brexit/Trump, desires privatization of healthcare & education, incites racists/islamophobes & doesn’t support carbon pricing/bold national climate plan LIKE MOST CANADIANS.He doesn’t represent Canadian values. #WhyScheerLost— Anne with an "e" (@mrsmaris) October 26, 2019\nInformed Canadians can see the global orchestration of right-wing governments who are systematically weakening democracy and crushing their own people to the advantage of the few.We are the #TrueNorth, the global moral compass, and we don’t need that shit here. #WhyScheerLost— Ingrid Hunt 🇨🇦 (@IngridHunt14) October 26, 2019\n#WhyScheerLost God hates Alberta.— Pete Patterson, Spatial Cadet, 𝑥R Dev (@OttawaPete) October 26, 2019\nScheers entire campaign was essentially "vote for me because Trudeau is awful". The man didn't have a clear position on any major issue to speak of.#WhyScheerLost #cdnpoli#elx43— N (@PippenWithAn_N) October 26, 2019\n#WhyScheerLostcuz wishes come true😅if he hadn't, the outlook for my business did not look good, thank goodness that dude ain't got say in my day— ERIKA JONES (@HerPoeticRight) October 26, 2019\nbecause of this golden tweet by @EdtheSock #WhyScheerLost https://t.co/qIrUGe947t— Kchampion (@followdalogik) October 26, 2019\n...because Stephen Harper, Doug Ford and Jason Kenney are in the room, and we all know how that turns out.#WhyScheerLost— Sheila Strickland (@shelearn) October 26, 2019\nConservative leaders used to be businessmen, lawyers, and journalists with university degrees and real-world experience. Not professional politicians and resume fluffers who’ve never held a real job outside of Ottawa. At least Justin was a drama teacher. 🤷♂️ #WhyScheerLost— Rhys (@rhyscourtman) October 26, 2019\nI already made this joke over on instagram, but the reason #WhyScheerLost is because he never got a photo op with Bono. Don't worry, I am kidding. pic.twitter.com/NtKye7HCay— Morgan Carlos (@Koi_Gato) October 25, 2019\nBecause he’s appealing as a root canal. #WhyScheerLost pic.twitter.com/4o4gQFpkJD— Jeffrey Luscombe (@JeffreyLuscombe) October 25, 2019\nBecause Elizabeth May predicted he would. 😁😁 #WhyScheerLost— Aretha C. For the left wingers who want FPTP gone-Scheer would have had the plurality of seats with proportional representation!— Peggy O’Neill Kirkpatrick (@dojiggers) October 26, 2019\n#WhyScheerLost Because eastern Canada is brainwashed by Justin Trudeau.🤡 ps he’s the reason JT lost his majority and. He won popular vote. 👋🏻— keisha (@KeishaHughesx_) October 26, 2019\nHe assumed Canadians knew how terrible Trudeau was.#WhyScheerLost— Steve Simon (@the_stevesimon) October 26, 2019\nBecause Trudeau and the Liberals promised us proportional representation and then failed to deliver. Can't argue with the numbers. Cons got the most votes. #WhyScheerLost— Silver&BlackCanuck (@MNokes604) October 25, 2019\nNo matter what people say on Twitter, whether Scheer should've won or lost, Canadians had their say at the polls about who will govern Canada next and that's not Scheer and his party.\nDespite his election loss and calls for him to step down as leader, Scheer said he would stay on as leader of the Conservative Party.\nThere are stories everywhere.
