Hockey is making a comeback and we couldn’t be more excited about it. While sports haven't been all that exciting over the past few months, they're coming back with force. The NHL is about to get a little bit bigger thanks to a new Seattle NHL team. The Calgary Flames put out a creative welcome video for the team and it’s the best thing ever.\nExhibition games have already begun and it feels great to have Canada’s past time back.\nEditor's Choice: Calgary Is Getting A Floating Cinema & You Watch From Your Own Social Distance Boat\nBut things may look a little different with the addition of Seattle’s team.\nThe Seattle Kraken announce their name and logo through a promotional Twitter video and people are freaking out.\nFitting perfectly with the name, the team logo features an “S” made to of a Kraken tentacle.\nWhile this will be just another team to watch out for in the Western Conference, the best part is how the Calgary Flames reacted.\nThe team posted a hilarious video on Twitter that mimics a text exchange between the NHL and all the existing teams.\nA legend from the deep awakens.Meet the Seattle Kraken → https://t.co/to5BtVVPh1 pic.twitter.com/FQfOdaiGQQ— Seattle Kraken (@NHLSeattle_) July 23, 2020\nAs Seattle responds to a welcome text from the NHL in a simulated exchange, the Vancouver Canucks are quick to jump in and say that the long-lasting rivalry has been renewed.\nSeveral other teams reply expressing their excitement and sending congratulatory messages including the Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings.\nThe Calgary Flames eventually chime in say “welcome to the Pacific. This Div gets wild.”\nThe Edmonton Oilers then pipe up saying it’s “finally something” they can agree on.\nWelcome to the wild West, @NHLSeattle_ 🔥 pic.twitter.com/3kLfMOFMCp— Calgary Flames (@NHLFlames) July 23, 2020\nIn case you missed it, there was huge beef between the two teams recently which caused some serious online drama.\nThe Edmonton Oilers then hilariously remove the Flames from the chat.\nThe texts continue and along the way, there are many references to past games, GIFs, and words of encouragement.\nEventually, the texts end with the new Seattle team thanking everyone for the warm welcome.\n“We’ll see you all in 2021,” reads the message.\nThey may not be hitting the ice this year but by this time next year, there will be a new bandwagon to jump on.
