Bianca Andreescu might be everyone’s favourite tennis player in Canada right now, but some of our neighbours to the south aren't exactly her biggest fans. Not only did Bianca Andreescu's U.S. Open match pit her against Taylor Townsend on Monday, who is a tough opponent, but she also had to contend with a crowd of heckling New York spectators.

The fans were hoping to get into Andreescu's head by shouting “double fault” at her. However, it would take a lot more than a few rowdy fans to slow her momentum. Bianca let it all roll off her back responding to crowd’s negativity by defeating their favourite 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 on Monday evening.

Thankfully, there were also some Canadian fans at the U.S. Open that day, and they made sure their voices were heard. It was those cheers that help the young tennis pro come out on top.

"I heard some Canadian fans here and there, which was nice, especially in tougher moments," Andreescu said to CBC. "It's not easy. I tried not to pay attention to that, but it's hard when it's, like, everyone. I'm glad with how I managed to just keep my cool."

Despite hostility from the crowd, the two tennis players kept it classy, celebrating each other on Twitter after the match. Which really isn’t surprising giving Bianca’s reputation for being a total class act.

Andreescu will play Belgian Elise Mertens in the quarter-final at 7:00 p.m on Wednesday. If I were betting man, I would put all my money on Bianca who seems to be at her absolute peak right now.
