The pandemic has been hard on the NBA this season. However, it seems that the time off for Pascal Siakam may have hit him harder than others. Coach Nick Nurse admitted in an interview that the star player has been having a tough time and is hoping that he can pull it together.

The Raptors powerhouse has been criticized by fans and sports experts alike over his poor performance during the team's last six games against the Celtics.

Still, there are some who believe Spicy P could get his mojo back.

Raptors head coach Nick Nurse is one person who is still voicing their support for the young player.

Nurse opened up about Siakam's struggles during an interview on Wednesday and expressed his confusion as to why the 26-year-old was getting so much bad press.

"Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I'm more like, everybody has been wanting this to be like piled on him for some reason and I don't really understand why. They've been trying to pile it on him," Nurse said according to Josh Lewenberg from TSN.

The coach states that the player had been doing well before the pandemic, despite what others said.

"He did it all year long. And then the pandemic hit, and the break has not treated him as well as maybe everybody else."

"So, we've gotta get one for him so he can give himself an opportunity to show who he is, again, for the umpteenth time," he added.

Despite many claiming that Pascal's game wasn't on point on Wednesday night, Nurse also stated that "there's a possibility that it could be there when the ball goes up Friday."

While many hoped the all-star version of Pascal would show up in Game 6, it was Kyle Lowry who got the praise.

In fact, multiple other athletes praised him online for his skills that helped win the game.

The Raptors will face the Boston Celtics at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2020.
