Toronto Raptors fans were hit with plenty of news on Friday and, naturally, it concerned Kawhi Leonard's Toronto return. Chief among the revelations was that the NBA Finals MVP and Canada's latest sporting icon is set to roll back up to Scotiabank Arena on December 11, as reported by Sportsnet. And it's safe to say people feel some kind of way about it.\nKawhi, of course, gave Toronto and Canada everything during his solitary season in Ontario. He delivered the franchise's maiden NBA championship before heading back out west to his native California to sign for the LA Clippers.\nAt the time, of course, most Raptors fans, being the Canadians that they are, had nothing but nice things to say about the Klaw.\nLikely a factor in the lack of ill-feeling surrounding his departure was the fact that Kawhi always seemed to have his heart set on a return to the city of angels. Even reports of him making unreasonable requests of the Raptors camp during negotiations didn't do much to sour the sentiment.\nSome Raptors fans may note the irony in Kawhi's return coming as winter hits Toronto. The superstar was famously none too pleased with the harsh conditions of winter on Lake Ontario.\nIt's a shame the Ka'wine and Dine promo won't be running. Kawhi suggested in his first Clippers press conference that he'd enjoyed taking advantage of the initiative named after him.\nOne thing seems certain, though. Toronto's - and Canada's - latest sporting icon will surely get a hero's welcome upon his return.\nKawhi Leonard will make his return to Toronto on December 11th#WeTheNorth pic.twitter.com/ucvTmFaGa2— Raptors Nation™ (@WeTheNorth__) August 2, 2019\nAnyone who even thinks about booing kawhi when he comes back in December is gonna catch these hands— NBA CHAMPIONS (@nterceira) August 2, 2019\nWhen Kawhi checks in for his first game back in Toronto the arena should erupt in nothing short of a celebration. Any booing is completely ignorant.— HoopMinded (@MindOnHoops) August 2, 2019\nThe emotion of DeMar's return was so unique and awesome, but man, Dec. 11 in Toronto is going to be some kind of SCENE.— Joseph Casciaro (@JosephCasciaro) August 2, 2019\nPrepare your lungs for the biggest "thanks, former player" cheer in Raptors history: Kawhi Leonard will play his first game in Toronto as a Clipper on December 11. https://t.co/K2wVJvSgu6— Josh Kern (@joshuakern) August 2, 2019\nThe thought of Toronto being denied a Kawhi reunion is a sad one. However, given the tendency to rest Kawhi at times during the season, the topic of load management was front of mind for some fans.\nAs has been pointed out, here's hoping Kawhi's return to Toronto on Dec. 11 isn't a load management day. #WeTheNorth— Greg Gallagher (@ggottawa) August 2, 2019\nplease do the most kawhi thing ever and "load manage" (sit out) this game.— Jake (@J_Hill74) August 2, 2019\nThe Clippers giving Kawhi the night off for his return to Toronto will be an all time troll moment. #LoadManagement https://t.co/3OHMy97848— Gareth Bush (@garethbush) August 2, 2019\n5 bucks Kawhi doesn't play on Dec 11th.— Vineet Deo (@vDeoo) August 2, 2019\nFingers crossed that doesn't happen, eh?
