Leafs Players Showed Off Their Doggos On The Rink During Today's Game (VIDEOS)
The Leafs are big time dog lovers.
It has been quite the day for Toronto Maple Leafs fans. The team, who hosted their second annual outdoor practice at Nathan Phillips Square for a crowd of excited fans on Thursday, managed to top last year’s outing by adding a few unexpected surprises.
Players from the team managed to hit fans right in the feels by bringing out their dogs for a stroll on the ice.
Leafs' defenceman Tyson Barrie, in particular, shared an adorable moment with his dog Ralph, who could be seen gleefully prancing around the ice as if he owned it in a video shared via Twitter.
But he wasn’t the only one.
Travis Dermott and his fur baby Niylah rang in the pup’s birthday "in style" with their own touching moment on the rink.
The two dogs had previously been featured in the team’s Dog Days of Summer tweets, which was posted.
The post caused some fans to start demanding the boys get their own team dog.
A few even mentioned how acquiring a pooch had supposedly helped the St. Louis Blues become 2019’s Stanley Cup winners after becoming the proud owners of their team pup, Barclay.
Sadly, there doesn’t appear to have been any progress on the Leafs dog front, but fingers crossed!
The Leafs made their way to the rink in true Canadian fashioned today byat Union Station in full hockey gear.
The commute, which was a welcome surprise for fans who happened to be travelling on Line 1, was also made by the team during last year’s event.
Fans cheered as players walked into Union Station on their way to the ice.
The boys were also seen within hand, which only made things super Canadian.
The morning skate officially began at 11:00 a.m. with a three-on-three player tournament following shortly after at noon and a public skate scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
