The champs are back! The Toronto Raptors took Japan by storm on Tuesday morning after defeating the Houston Rockets in their first game of the season. The win is already sparking hope that Toronto might go for another championship run year. New Toronto Raptor Terence Davis, in particular, had fans shook after he put up some impressive numbers during his first game with the franchise.
According to NBA.com, Davis went undrafted during the 2019 NBA Draft eventually during the Denver Nuggets for the NBA Summer League. On July 11, 2019, Davis finally got his shot, signing a two-year deal with the Raptors with a full ride in year one.
The Raptors have developed a bit of reputation for scooping up undrafted players and churning out basketball superstars.famously went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. The player was offered $20,000 to play two years in the NBA development league. He turned it down, and three years later, he was an NBA champion.
Fans who managed to catch the Raptors game in Japan were already pushing Davis as a “fan favourite” this season:
