Boo! Nothing screams Halloween like a good old fashioned haunted house.

Here are six haunted houses across Canada that are sure to give you chills and thrills.

The Keg Mansion (Toronto, Ontario) 

Address: 515 Jarvis St., Toronto, ON M4Y 1H7

Hours of operation: 4 pm- 11 pm (Monday to Sunday)

Spooky Story: This spooky mansion was built in 1867 and housed the well-known Massey family. 

It's said that one family member, Lillian Massey, died in 1915 and was beloved by her staff who took the news hard. One maid, in particular, took her life by hanging herself and was found swinging above the foyer.

Legend has it that the maid's spirit, as well as other ghosts, watch over the mansion and haunt it. Apparently, the sound of phantom children can be heard running and playing in the house.


The Marr Residence (Saskatoon, Sask)

Address: 326 11th St. E., Saskatoon, SK S7N 0E7 

Hours of operation: Closed to visitors

Spooky Story: This spooky house was built in 1884 and is the oldest house still standing in Saskatoon.

Although tiny in size, the story of this house is no small feat. It's said to have two ghosts or maybe more roaming the space. People say a child can occasionally be heard speaking and seen poking through the front window. 


Charlotte County Court House (New Brunswick)

Address: 123 Frederick St., St. Andrews, New Brunswick, E5B, Canada 

Hours of operation:10am – 4:30 pm (might be closed to visitors due to COVID-19)

Spooky Story: Known as the oldest courthouse in Canada and built in 1840, the Charlotte County Court House is said to be home to ghosts of convicts that were executed at a nearby county jail.

Stories range from a man walking around with a rope looking for something, to visitors claiming to experience a cold sensation and the feelings of being watched. 


The Fort Garry Hotel (Winnipeg, Manitoba)

Address: 222 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0R3

Hours of operation: Open 24/7 to visitors booked 

Spooky Story: This famous haunted house in Winnipeg is said to have guests who have never vacated the premises, even in death.

Staff have reportedly said that a phantom sits at a table by the window in the broadway room, usually minding his own business. Speaking of rooms, room 202 is known to give one heck of a goosebump experience when objects move and phones and cameras stop working. Guests have even said they feel someone laying in the bed beside them. 


Craigdarroch Castle ( Victoria, B. C.)

Address: 1050 Joan Cres., Victoria, BC V8S 3L5

Hours of operation: 10 am - 4:30 pm (Monday to Sunday)

Spooky Story: Although the staff won't admit the building could be haunted, guests say otherwise. Castle goers say that a little girl can be seen running down the stairs as music plays.


Fairmont Hotel Macdonald (Edmonton, Alberta)

Hours of operation: Open 24/7 to visitors booked

Spooky Story: Easily known as the most gothic-looking place in Edmonton, workers and guests have said that they heard the sound of a horse-drawn carriage in this massive hotel. The scariest part is, the sound only comes from the top floor hallway exclusively.
