Fall is a wonderful time of year. Now that the tourist season is over, we can begin to enjoy our own city again without a bunch of people ironically wearing cowboy hats. In order to make this October the best October ever, we found seven free things to do in Calgary this month that are an absolute must. Whether you are taking in a Halloween-themed party or local artisan show, all seven of these events are free. So why not go?

We have been through an emotional rollercoaster recently, Calgary. Our fall did not last long thanks to Snowtember. But just because we had winter storm warnings doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun.

Throughout the month of October, there are tons of awesome events going on. We understand that going to every concert, foodie event, and wine tasting may be a little hard to do on a millennial budget.

That's why we found seven wicked events to do around Calgary that are absolutely free. Now all you need to do is grab a friend or two and plan the perfect day.

Winter isn’t supposed to technically arrive for another couple of weeks so don’t let this weather get you down. Get out there and enjoy the city before the inevitable snow dump comes along.

And in case you needed more reason to put down the T.V. remote and explore the city, a lot of these events are indoors and away from the cold.
