Calgary's outdoor ice rink at Olympic Placa is about to open, which is something of an unofficial start to the holiday season in the city. Best of all, you'll be able to grab free skate rentals to kick off winter.\nThe rink will officially open for the season on Wednesday, November 20.\nWhile the iconic rink is always free, you usually have to either bring your own skates or pay for a rental.\nBut since it's Grey Cup weekend, they'll be celebrating with free skate rentals over three days making this experience totally free for one weekend.\nThere's even a special Grey Cup logo painted underneath the ice right now just for the occasion. Grey Cup weekend will be crazy in Calgary and this is a chill way to join in the fun.\nWinter in Calgary this year is going to be insane.
