This Japanese Garden In Alberta Is Filled With Christmas Lights And Its Magical
Say Konichiwa to magical holiday lights 🇨🇦🇯🇵
With so many magical holiday light events going on across the country, it's easy to get overwhelmed. With less than two weeks to go until Christmas, the last thing you want to do is run around in a mad rush trying to get to all these cool holiday events!
That's why the Winter Lights Festival at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge is so amazing. It's going on now all the way into February! That means in January, when you've integrated all your presents into your home and you're back to the daily grind, you can treat yourself with one more lights event to savour the season even longer.
The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden has architectural features that were built in Kyoto, Japan by artisans and then reassembled here in Canada. Thoughtfully designed by Japanese scholars from Osaka University using traditional Japanese design principles, the garden is a peaceful retreat any time of year. When it's blanketed in snow, you can really imagine yourself in a mountain town in Japan.
In the winter, it is adorned with holiday lights so that visitors can experience the magic of the garden in a whole new way! The trees, shrubs, bushes, bridges and Japanese pavilions all get decorated with sparkling lights. The garden offers a special Tomodachi experience for two where you can get admission to the garden, hot chocolate or matcha and two matcha maple cookies.
The Winter Lights Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge is on now until Saturday, February 2. It runs on select nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
