Just because you can't backpack through Europe, or swim with the dolphins in Punta Cana doesn't mean you can't have a good time. Sometimes the most fun you have can happen the closest to home.

Running from May to October, the High Level Bridge Street Car offers on board concerts on select evenings. Enjoy scenic views and live music all summer long.

3. Taste of Edmonton  // Sir Winston Churchill Square

Let your taste buds go crazy. From July 20-29th, enjoy foods from some of Edmonton’s best amateur and professional chefs.

4. Snow Valley Aerial Park  // 119 Whitemud Drive NW

Say hello to Canada’s first aerial park! Perfect for anyone who loves adventure, the entire climbing structure includes over 100 games to keep you entertained for hours.

5. U of A Botanic Garden // 51227 AB-60

Not just for University of Alberta students, the Botanic Garden not only offers beautiful views to the general public, but also education opportunities. (Not to mention, the photo-ops in this place are endless).

6. Edmonton Corn Maze // 26171 Garden Valley Road

Not just for Halloween, corn mazes can be fun all year round. Opening in late July, getting lost in the Edmonton Corn Maze is a great way to spend the day with your besties.

7. Pembina River Tubing // 53217 Range Road 74 A

Why spend your day tanning on the deck, when you can float down the Pembina River and soak up the sun? Probably the best way to spend a hot summer day, this river float comes with gorgeous scenery and affordable prices.

8. Heart of the City Music Festival // Giovanni Caboto Park

Who doesn’t love free live music? This festival is all about supporting and showcasing local talent. Heart of the City runs on June 3rd and 4th this year, and will not only include musicians and artists, but also a variety of food trucks that have yet to be announced.

9. SideQuests Adventures // 10190 104 Street NW

If you’re in the mood to adventure, but not in the mood to leave the city, SideQuests is the place for you. Adventures include an alien abduction, and an Egyptian expedition.

10. K-Days  // 7515 118 Avenue NW

Basically Edmonton’s version of the Calgary Stampede, K-Days is Edmonton’s biggest summer festival. From July 21-30th, enjoy delicious food, great entertainment, and fireworks.

11. Edmonton Craft Beer Festival  // 7300 116 Avenue NW

The perfect place to take any beer lover in your life. June 2nd and 3rd are the days to get your drank on and sample over 400 types of beer, and even increase your beer knowledge, if that’s what you’re into.

12. Whyte Avenue Art Walk // Whyte Avenue

If you’re looking to spunk up your Insta feed, this is the place for you. Taking place from July 7th-9th in Downtown Edmonton, Whyte Ave Art Walk features hundreds of artists.
