Although it seems like summer was just a few weeks ago, it's time to face the harsh reality that the coldest season of the year is almost upon us. Canada is infamously known for it's Arctic-esque winters, and we Albertans know that better than anyone else, especially here up North in Alberta's capital.

Winter isn't all bad, though. No matter how much the cold wind and endless piles of snow may bug you, give the next few months the benefit of the doubt and see how much you can enjoy yourself. This just so happens to be one of the best times of year for festive activities, exploring outdoors (bundled up of course), and spending quality time with your loved ones. You're not a bear, you don't need to go into hibernation as soon as the snow falls.

Even if you're not looking to venture into the great outdoors this winter, there's still lots you can do around the beautiful city of Edmonton. What better time than the present to cozy up on a romantic date with your boo, find a new favourite artist at one of the many amazing concerts that come to YEG, or, if you're ballin' on a budget, check out some of the city's best free places.

There's endless things for you to explore this season; don't let the cold get the best of you. What are you looking to do this winter?
