When you think of the colours of the holidays, you're probably picturing greens and reds. Maybe there's a little gold or silver in there, too, if you're fancy. There's an Alberta pop-up event that you won't want to miss where you will be totally immersed in crazy colourful art without a Christmas tree or mistletoe insight this holiday season.

The Kingsway Mall in Edmonton has new giant installations that are flipping the script on colour this holiday season.

You can still wear your Christmas suit or ugly sweater to go take photos, but you won't need to.

Called CHROMA YEG, four artists came together to fill the mall with immersive art pieces that are equal parts whimsical and fun.

Even though they're completely avoiding anything overly Christmasy or wintery, the works still capture the wonder and magic of the season but just in a new and more pastel-hued way.

There are works dotted throughout the mall so you won't be able to miss them while you're wrapping up your shopping.

Plus, you've never seen these works before since they were created specifically for this cute pop-up.

Best of all, this eye-catching experience is totally free so you have no excuse not to fit it in somewhere on your holiday bucket list this season.

Edmonton has a ton of incredible events and unique things to check out this winter like Canada's largest gingerbread house

The CHROMA YEG pop-up is ideal if you're a little tired of all your typical holiday cheer.

Wander through the massive exhibits and lose yourself in a colourful world.

It's so whimsical that it kind of reminds us of the Dr. Seuss pop-up maze in Toronto.

If you need a break from the holly, hot chocolate and snow but you don't want to be a Grinch, then you have to check this place out.
