For us Canadians, springtime means two very important things. One, you don't have to wake up early to scrape ice off your car. Two, you can now eat maple syrup everything. It's the time of year when our maple trees flow with endless golden liquid, and we can't wait to indulge in this iconic treat. This spring, you can let your patriotism shine through by visiting the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival. The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival has been recognized in the Guinness Book Of Records as the World's Largest Single Day Maple Syrup Festival. Located about two hours outside of Toronto, this charming little town becomes extra sweet each spring. This year, the festival is celebrating its 56th event, and it promises to be just as mapley as ever. The festival is brimming with things to do, and you won't want to leave without indulging in all the delicious treats. Pancakes and maple syrup go hand-in-hand, and you can enjoy lots of fluffy flapjacks doused in golden syrup. You can put your own cooking skills to the test at the pancake flipping contest. You can even meet a giant real-life pancake and snap some photos with it. If you're hungry for more, you can head to the Outdoor Mall where you'll find more maple-inspired treats like gooey apple flavours.
