Somehow, December is almost here. Decorations are popping up daily around B.C. and the Christmas cheer will continue next week when the castle on the coast will be hosting their very own lights ceremony. The Empress Hotel Victoria Christmas event will take place on Thursday, November 28, and thousands of people are expected to attend. Everyone is invited to join the festivities at 721 Government St. in downtown Victoria. The evening will begin with the lighting of the 16-foot Christmas tree in the hotel’s lobby. Next, everyone will head outside to watch as the hotel and surrounding landscape light up with thousands of twinkling lights. It will truly take your breath away. After you witness the massive light show outdoors, you can head in to explore the hotel where over 7,5000 ornaments will be featured throughout. You can snack on Christmas cookies and sip hot chocolate out on the veranda where Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will also be making an appearance. Speaking of cookies, the hotel’s pastry team will be putting together a massive Gingerbread Holiday Village display that you need to see for yourself.
