Canada's Largest Icewine Festival Is The Chillest Thing You'll Do All Winter
Wine and dessert? Count us in!
Anytime you can combine boozy drinks with sweet desserts, you can bet we're interested. And, at Canada's largest wine festival series, they've done just that. If you've never tasted icewine, it's a thick, sugary wine served chilled. Basically, a dessert in a glass. If that sounds as perfect as we think it does, then you'll want to check out the epic Niagara Icewine Festival.
With beautiful ice sculptures, cozy campfires, entertainment, and multiple wineries serving up their sweetest vino, there will be plenty for you to enjoy at the annual fest.
In fact, there's so much going on that the festival lasts for nearly all of January and is spread out across Niagara-On-The-Lake.
It's not just straight-up wine either, oh no. Many wineries will feature custom icewine cocktails and tasty food pairings as well.
What's even better is that admission to events like the cocktail competition and the icewine village are totally free. However, you'll have to purchase tokens for the drinks.
So, if you fancy yourself a wino or even just a sweet tooth, then you're not going to want to miss this.
Now all you need to do is text the squad and start planning your next boozy adventure.
The festival kicks off on January 10 with the Sparkle and Ice Gala. There will be creative icewine cocktails and a wine-inspired dinner menu.
Nearing the end of the night, you can enjoy incredible fireworks and take part in the epic icewine toast.
Later in the month, the Icewine Village will open up and it's totally free to enter.
The village brings a touch of winter magic to Queen Street with gigantic ice sculptures, cozy fire pits, and a constant flow of delicious wine.
To wrap things up, there will be an epic cocktail competition, and you can judge your favourites. It turns into quite the party, and admission is free.
So, prove you're the most chill wine fan there is and put this in your calendar now.
