The best thing we can all do this 2018 is spread love and spend time with people we love. All of the things happening this year are great for bonding with those we love and creating memories that will last a lifetime. With Ottawa 2017 all finished, it's easy to say that 2018 will be super boring, but honestly, it won't. People who complain about there being nothing to do tend to never search for anything to do. Go skating at the Parliament Hill Rink
Now this is a must during 2018. Seriously if you haven't already made your way to Parliament Hill for a skate you have to do it ASAP. The rink will be open through the winter and is expected to close in February. Head to Parliament Hill for a once in a lifetime skate that you will never forget.
Hit up Level On Game Pub and get competitive
Escape from the chilly winter cold and stay inside playing some games while sipping on some drinks. For only $5.50 you can play any video game you wish! Plus you can head upstairs to The Loft Board Game Lounge to play some boardgames too!
Visit the Alight At Night outdoor light festival
Head to Eastern Ontario's biggest outdoor light festival before it's too late. Upper Canada Village has fully transformed into a magical winter wonderland that is 100% worth seeing. The winter wonderland magic comes to an end on January 6th, so make your way before it's gone!
Unwind from December madness at Nordik Spa-Nature
Honestly, after the insane rollercoaster of December it's time to just completely relax. At Nordik you will feel like you've entered another world. From the soothing music you hear when you enter to the amazing smells throughout the spa, it is 100% worth visiting.

I am so excited to see this new winter wonderland creation this January. On January 28th, the Mosaï 150 sculptures we all remember from the summer will be transformed into winter ice sculptures! What better way to spend your day embracing the winter weather than outside admiring these giant ice sculptures. Winterlude will be happening in February as well, but if you want a change, I would head to Gatineau.
Skate on a 3km path at Patinage en Foret
What a perfect Valentines Day date with your bae or your BFFs. At Patinage en Foret you can skate through a 3km pathway through the forest. What makes this even better is that it only costs $13 per ticket! This is a perfect way to get outside during the winter while taking in stunning nature.
Treat yourself to a fancy dinner at Mati Ottawa
Make your way to Mati Ottawa for a fresh and unique meal. This is the perfect restaurant to hit up if you're in search for a new classy place to enjoy your Valentines Day dinner at. Mati Ottawa is a crudo and charcoal restaurant, which are styles of cooking in Greece and Italy.
Watch the unique Ice Dragon Boat Racing
The Ice Dragon Boat Racing happens every February in Ottawa and it is crazy. Each year teams compete in a race in boats that have skates attached to their bottoms, it really is something to see! This year the race will be on the Rideau Canal Skateway. The worlds largest ice dragon boat event will be happening this year and you should not miss out!

This is the second year that the Sugar Lumberfest will take on Ottawa so if you missed it last year, here's your second chance. There will also be a hot chocolate bar, maple taffy bar, and a lumberjack competition!

Booking a spot to play in the escape can be challenging so I suggest you book about a month in advance if you want to go with a big group. This is a super fun activity to do with your entire squad sometime this year.

This has to be one of my personal favourite things to do during May. Not only do I love tulips, but there's something so uplifting about seeing colourful flowers blossom (especially after winter). With the weather finally warmer, taking a walk through the pretty tulips is a great way to say hello to spring/summer.

From May 11th to May 13th Ottawa ComiCon will take place. Last year Ottawa ComiCon welcomed so many iconic actors including Mathew Lewis (Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter), Adam West from Batman, and Madelaine Petsch from Riverdale! Who knows who will come in 2018!

In 2017 Morrison's Quarry was discovered by many people and if you didn't make your way last year you have to in 2018. Just 30 minutes away from Ottawa, the not-so-hidden swimming hole makes for the perfect hang out spot during the summer time. With Ottawa's lack of "beaches" this quarry gives us Ottawans a chance to live our "beach" dreams.

Spend your day dancing away to live music at RBC Ottawa Bluesfest
From July 5th to the 15th, Ottawa Bluesfest will be back again. The annual music festival is always a good time. Last year the line up was alright, nothing too bad but nothing too great either. This year we're all hoping for an unreal lineup for some unreal nights.

If you go you have to try the traditional Greek dessert called loukoumades, seriously, that's my personal favourite thing about the festival!

Every year the University of Ottawa competes against Carleton University at TD Place Stadium. This is a great way to have a fun time out with your squad. There really is nothing like going to a music festival with your closest friends and dancing the night away. Last year City Folk Festival welcomed musical talents including Post Malone and Ruth B, so we're hoping for a great lineup this year too!

Skate on the Sens Rink of Dreams

The rink normally opens in December is surrounded by glowing LED lights making the rink light up at night. Just outside of Ottawa's City Hall, the colourful lights reflect off of the shiny ice making it a winter wonderland.
