Okay. We've officially all survived 2016, and we should give ourselves a pat on the back or just celebrate the f*ck out of this year. I'm still really not sure what happened this year, but let's just say I think we're all over it.

With that being said, it still is another year over and we need to somehow celebrate. Whether you're celebrating leaving a lot in 2016, bringing new personal endeavours into 2017 or just trying to forget about who the next President of the United States is, champagne is needed. So I've listed the best NYE parties that Ottawa holds so you can ring in the New Year right. Bye 2016, won't miss yah!

1. Canada 150 Kick Off // Parliament Hill

Canada 150 Kick Off takes place on Parliament Hill on December 31st at 7:00 p.m. The fireworks will take place at 8:17 p.m., which also translates to 20:17. Clever, eh? And of course, there will also be fireworks when the clock strikes midnight as well. There will be musical performances by Canadian artists such as Radio Radio, Brett Kissel and Carly Rae Jepsen.

2. Island F.E.V.E.R. // Ottawa Marriott Hotel

Island F.E.V.E.R. is Ottawa's biggest indoor New Year's Eve party, and you definitely don't want to miss it. There will be music by DJ Ray Ray, special guest DJ MACE and live surprise entertainment. You get 1 complimentary drink, party favours, and a chance to win a Caribbean cruise for two!

3. Timeless NYE // Infinity Convention Centre

Timeless NYE is about as classy as you can get on New Year's Eve in Ottawa. This 25+ event will raise your standards for all of your future NYE parties. The dress code is formal, you get a 3 course meal, and there's a champagne station (nothing sounds better, honestly). With live music and DJ's, you'll dance right into 2017.

4. New Year’s Eve ‘Extravaganza’ Club Crawl 2017 // Pub 101

This club crawl happens all over Canada, and has 8,000 participants last year so you know it's a good time! This pub crawl starts at Pub 101, and takes you to 4 of the best NYE parties throughout the city. You get to beat the lines and not pay any cover, and ride in a party bus in between parties. Uhm, yes please!

5. 2017 Resolutions // Hilton Lac Leamy Ballroom

Ring in the New Year at Hilton Lac Leamy Ballroom, which is absolutely gorgeous. There will be music by Classyfied, DJ Arabika, and Mike Robia. You can dance the night away, and the event starts at 10 p.m.

6. Ottawa New Year’s Eve Charity Ball // Ottawa Conference and Event Centre

New Year's Eve can be a super fun night, but what's more fun than helping children with autism and special needs? This charity ball is a formal event that that starts at 6:00 p.m. and also includes a four course meal. There will be live entertainment, and each person will be given $100.00 in charity bucks to spend at the casino. With your winnings from the casino, you can bid on prizes which the money will ultimately go towards helping children with autism and special needs.

7. The Black & White NYE Affair // The Whiskey Bar

This NYE party will be lit. Sorry. Anyways, this event sells out every year and for good reason. Who would give up champagne, confetti bombs, shots of Bourbon and the chance to look hot AF? Wear that all black outfit you've been saving all year, and step on out and get yourself that New Year's kiss you've also been waiting for all year.

8. Glow NYE // Liquor Store

Ready to glow all night long? Glow NYE at Liquor Store features confetti cannons, LED walls and 1000 glow sticks cracked at midnight to really get the vibe going. If you're looking for a great place to ring in the New Year with your BFFs, I'd recommend Liquor Store!

9. New Year's Eve: Gourmet Getaway // Nordik Spa-Nature

Okay, maybe this isn't exactly a party to some people. However, some would rather ring in the New Year being relaxed AF and that's completely okay. New Year's Eve at Nordik Spa-Nature includes everything you could want and more: Thermal experience, a four-course meal or a Tapas platter depending on when you book, glass of wine or beer, bathrobe rental and sparkling wine at midnight. Relax right into 2017, you'll need it after this year for sure.
