Ziplining above the Ottawa river will have to wait until next year. The opening of Interzip Rogers has been delayed until the spring of 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you were ready to zoom over Canada's capital region this summer, you'll just have to dream about it.\nInterzip Rogers was originally slated to open this summer but its organizers announced that it's going to be put off until next year.\nJust blame COVID-19 for this delay.\nConstruction on the nearly 1,400-foot long zipline had to be halted because of the pandemic and all the public health measures that were put in place.\nHowever, that work is set to resume this summer.\nWhen it finally opens, you will be able to fly over Ottawa and Gatineau for spectacular sights of both cities.\nThat makes it the first interprovincial zipline in the world.\nInterzip Rogers is a collaboration between Orkestra, an Ottawa-based advertising agency and Zibi, a mixed-use development at Gatineau's waterfront.\nRogers Communication is a sponsor of the attraction so that's where part of the name comes from.\n"Given the current context, it is impossible for us to guarantee a launch and experience that would meet our visitors' expectations," said Alex Van Dieren, co-president of Orkestra, to Ottawa Matters.\nView this post on Instagram A breathtaking 360° view of the Parliament Buildings, the iconic Chaudière Falls and Old Hull 120 feet above the Ottawa River.
