While gourmet tacos to some people may mean Taco Bell, others beg to differ. I know when I'm eating tacos I want the whole experience from chips and guac, to the margaritas, to a huge plate filled with delicious tacos. If you second this, then this article is for you!

I've found 8 taco spots that will blow your mind. Some of these spots are dedicated solely to Mexican food, and some just have the greatest tacos. You can totally do this trip all in one day, but we recommend just trying them out one day at a time! Either way, you're a boss and the prize you'll get is finding the best taco in Ottawa.

Grab your friends, order a few margaritas, and indulge! What better way to have a cheat day than eating a ton of delicious tacos? Enjoy!

Stop 1: Sula Wok

184 Main St

This new restaurant just opened up in Ottawa and they sell insane Asian tacos. They're actually not new to the Ottawa food scene, as they've had a popular food truck for a while. They decided to open a take out/dine in restaurant in Old Ottawa East and it's to die for! You'll get such amazing tacos with a ton of options, and you can even build your own. Yum!

Stop 2: El Camino

380 Elgin St

El Camino is one of the most popular Mexican spots in Ottawa and it's for good reason. They're always insanely packed, but they have a window you can order out of if you don't feel like waiting! They have unreal margaritas, and their fish tacos are to die for. If you're looking for something unique, then try their baked corn! It gives an amazing flavour and you won't regret stopping by El Camino.

Stop 3: Pancho Villa

361 Elgin St

Not only can you get drinks as big as your head at Pancho Villa, but you can also get some unreal Mexican food. They don't have a ton of taco options, but the best taco option is the one that's on a huuuge plate with one tostada and two tacos. You'll be full for hours!

Stop 4: Nacho Cartel

151 Laurier Ave E

When we think of great places to eat, we automatically think of restaurants. But we often forget that great food comes out of trucks too! Nacho Cartel is an amazing food truck that specifically sells nachos, tacos, and milkshakes. Yes, just that. They're known for how good their tacos are, and you'll really never understand until you try one! From chicken to cauliflower tacos, no matter what you choose will blow your mind.

Burrito Borracho is an amazing spot if you're craving tacos. Not only do they have endless options for Mexican food, but they have endless tequila options and their cocktails are amazing. You'll absolutely feel like you're in Mexico as soon as you step into this spot, and you won't regret any choice you make in here. Stop 7: Corazon De Maiz

55 ByWard Market Square

Located in the heart of the ByWard Market, Corazon De Maiz is a delicious Mexican restaurant that is actually super adorable. They have a small menu, but that doesn't mean their food isn't good! They only serve soft tacos, but as you can tell from the picture above, they're legit tacos. For 3 tacos it's only $9.50, which is super good for how filling they are! And of course, guac is extra.

Stop 8: Sidedoor Contemporary Kitchen & Bar

18 York St

Sidedoor Contemporary Kitchen & Bar is a stunning restaurant that sells tacos, donuts, and everything in between. That's what it states on their website, and it's so true. You can either get spicy braised beef tacos, cajun chicken tacos, or bajan crispy fish tacos. How good do those sound?! Even though Sidedoor isn't a Mexican restaurant, they still pull off tacos as if they were. Oh, and while you're at it, definitely try the donuts.
