While you may have missed out on High Park's cherry blossoms this year, you still have a chance to see some other gorgeous spring blooms. This popular Ontario garden has begun to reopen just in time for lilac season. Get ready to have your world purple-ified, because the Royal Botanical Gardens Arboretum is now open and it's filled with flowering lilac bushes. It's not too late to get your flower fill. Cherry blossoms may be past their peak, but now the lilacs are in full swing. These fragrant purple blossoms will add some colour to your days, and you can see them right now at the Royal Botanical Gardens. After closing in March, the RBG has slowly begun the process of reopening. Several trails have already opened up for public use, and now you can visit the Arboretum as well. The Arboretum officially reopened on May 27, just in time for the lilac bloom. You can wander through these purple bushes and breath in their fresh, floral scent for the perfect spring adventure. The area is home to one of the largest lilac collections in the world, with over 600 varieties. Explore over 100 acres of flowers and plants in this dreamy garden. View this post on Instagram Did you hear? The #lilacs are in peak bloom at the #Arboretum! Its going to be a busy weekend, and unfortunately the turf is still far too damp to support parking, so instead of going straight to the Arboretum, start your visit with a walk around Rock Garden (1185 York Boulevard), and take the RBG shuttle bus from there!
