Now that the snow is finally gone, we can emerge from hibernation just in time for some summer fun. If you’re planning a visit you definitely need to make time for a hiking adventure. How do Newfoundlanders get out and explore? Hiking this beautiful rock, of course!
Signal Hill // St. John's
A short, moderate hike with a view. This is a must for EVERYONE. Because it's in St. John's this is a popular spot on a sunny day, these ocean views make it hard to stay away. There are a few different trails to chose from at Signal Hill the most popular being the Signal Hill/Battery walk.
Topsail Bluff // Conception Bay South
Yet another enjoyable hike with an even better view. Located just outside of St. John's Topsail Bluff is another popular hiking destination, just look at those scenic views. You can complete this moderate hike in less than an hour.
Skerwink Trail // Port Rexton
Come experience the coastal landscape. Just 10 minutes outside of Trinity, you need to add this to your summer bucket list. 5.3 km of raw and rugged beauty.
Madrock // Bay Roberts
Madrock is the perfect little day trip. You can also grab a meal at Madrock Cafe after you're done exploring the trails. You'll see a real piece of history in Madrock. There are a couple different paths to choose here.
Sugarloaf Path // Logy Bay
The views start immediately. Sugarloaf Path is one of many on the East Coast trail, but it's one of our favorites. The photo ops are endless. It will take you about 3 hours.
Gros Morne // Gros Morne National Park
The West Coast of Newfoundland knows how to hike. With some amazing views and lookouts it's no surprise Gros Morne has some world class hiking. There are multiple different hikes you can choose from at Gros Morne to suit your preferences. There are guided hikes, too.
Top Of Twillingate // Twillingate
Do some hiking through the famous iceberg alley. Among other hiking to do in Twillingate this one is sure to please. It will take you about 90 minutes and you'll see some breathtaking views and nature along the way.
