With winter in full swing, there are tons of new events happening in the 6ix. It's the perfect time to start exploring the city and seeing what it has to offer in those colder months. These 11 things to do in Toronto this weekend will be sure to clear away those winter blues. 

Toronto has had a variety of winter festivals happening this weekend that would be perfect for a night on the town. 

The Toronto Light Fest is kicking off this weekend in the Distillery District and gorgeous light displays will be illuminating up the square.  

There will also be some cool winter installations on the waterfront this weekend, as well as whole art and design festival happening at various venues across the city. 

The famous Electric Circus is also throwing a party at The Drake Lounge and we can't wait to relive those 90's dreams. 

If partying isn't your thing, you can always check out some great theatre and films that are showing around town, and head out to a restaurant afterwards.

Toronto Light Fest

Winter Fest 2020

When: January 17 to January 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why You Need To Go: Blue Jays fans should head over to the Rogers Centre this weekend for some baseball appreciation including games, rides, alumni player appearances, and more. 



Toronto Pug Grumble

Price: Free 

When: January 19 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why You Need To Go: Bring your doggos to this pug meetup in the park! You can bring your pet and meet other cute pugs and their owners. 


Winter Stations Presents: LOOP

Why You Need To Go: Come check out this interactive art installation at the York Street Park. You can sit in the cylinders and pump the levers provided to activate crazy lights and moving images.



Uncut Gems

Why You Need To Go: Paradise on Bloor is screening Adam Sandler's newest movie all weekend. Check out which showtime is most convenient for you.


DesignTO Festival

Price: Free

When: January 17 to January 26, various times

Address: Various locations

Why You Need To Go: This free festival will have various venues, exhibits, talks and lectures about art and design in Toronto. A must for all lovers of aesthetic. 



SKREAM at CODA

Price: $30

When: January 18 at 10 p.m.

Address: 794 Bathurst St., Toronto, ON

Why You Need To Go: One of the early influential producers in the dubstep craze is back in town and he's playing an open to close set at CODA which you won't want to miss.



Frost Fair 2020

Price: Free

When: January 17 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. & January 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Address: 250 Fort York Blvd., Toronto, ON

Why You Need To Go: There will be a lantern festival in the evening, a tour of the grounds, and skating at the Bentway Trail nearby. They will also offer historic food from the 1800s.



Electric Circus

Legally Blonde: The Musical
