I been using the same s7 phone for pics (they still suck!), learned so much about mixology, and met so many cool people that I did not expect to meet on here. I'm not one for celebrating, but I wanted to make a tribute to my first post. My first post was a watermelon margarita with a watermelon jello shot garnish. I recreated the look, but made something completely different like the doppletail event by @fractionsofzero . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I decided to make a tea based drink because it gives me an excuse to use my favorite spirit: bourbon! So in order to concentrate the watermelon flavor without additional dilution, I decided to cold brew the black tea in watermelon juice instead of water. (The watermelon juice has to be fine strained). Make sure to refrigerate during the cold brew process because watermelon juice is perishable. I left it in there for about 14-16 hours. This drink is based on a shot and a mixer template. I'd go between 1:2 or 1:3 ratio. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Bourbon Watermelon Tea" 1oz @basilhaydens bourbon Top with cold brew watermelon tea 8 mint leaves Garnish: watermelon aperol caviar and mint ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Muddle 8 mint leaves with the bourbon in shaker tin. Add the watermelon tea into tin, add ice, and shake. Strain into glass with large ice cube and finish topping off with more watermelon tea. На то, что у меня получится хороший желатиновый лёд, я уже даже не надеялась, поставив его в морозилку за пол часа до заката, чтобы успеть снять напиток в оранжевом свете, отражённом окнами дома напротив. Но, о чудо, лёд вышел прозрачным и прямо таким, как надо! Стаканы из морозилки, глицериновые потные бочка, немного игры в бармена и вроде всё должно получиться... Когда стало понятно, что солнце ушло и терять уже нечего, в ход пошли настольная лампа, зеркало и увлажнитель воздуха. Видите синий блик слева? Это естественный свет из окна!
