How is it already the month of June?! We can't believe it either. We're not complaining, though. It's finally summer (summer officially begins June 21st, actually) and we can't wait to check out all these amazing free events. Let us know if you'll be attending any of these!

1. Lunchtime Live! @ Yonge-Dundas Square

Grab some street meat (or some takeout) and drop by Dundas Square for Lunchtime Live! on Mondays from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Indonesian indie band DATU is playing June 1st, Toronto electronic duo kLoX June 8th, and Canadian cellist Cris Derksen June 15th.


2. ChainRx @ Yonge-Dundas Square

Does your bike need some tuning? Chain Reaction is offering free bike repairs June 2nd from 8:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Dundas Square to help you cyclists get ready for the summer biking season. They'll be tuning up and greasing bikes, providing minor repairs, providing bike safety checks and encouraging bike safety, and replacing unsafe and irreparable bikes with donated bikes. If you plan on participating, they do ask that you consider donating a brand new hygiene product which will go into an Un2Others Care Bag to be given to the marginalized cities. Here's a list of hygiene products you can donate.

3. Bike Month Breakfast @ University of Toronto

The month of June is Bike Month, and Hart House at U of T is hosting a free breakfast for cyclists on June 3rd. They're even having live music and the Ernesto Savini Jazz Trio will be performing. Arrive early because it's first come first serve!


4. Steam Whistle Brewing Sonder Gallery

Steam Whistle Brewery is hosting an art exhibition from June 3rd to 30th open to everyone! The exhibition is all about the Reddit invention of the word "sonder", which is "the realization that every individual passerby, seen and unseen, leads a life as complex and vivid as your own." Artists Katilyn Sita, Maxwell Hyett, Lizz McKenna, Katherine Wilson, and Cayden Mowbray will be contributing to the show with surrealistic, abstract, realist, and illustrative art in painting, photography, various printmaking processes, and wood burning.


5. National Doughnut Day 2015 @ Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is giving out FREE doughnuts on June 5th! The event commemorates The Salvation Army volunteers who provided doughnuts to soldiers in World War I. Check out the event page for more info!


6. Mac ‘n Cheese Festival @ Liberty Village

You all know about this one already. The Mac 'n Cheese Festival is happening June 5th to 7th in Liberty Village. Here are the details!


7. Toronto Mega Pet Adoption Event

Also happening the weekend of June 5th to 7th is the Toronto Mega Pet Adoption Event. It'll be taking place at the Queen Elizabeth Building from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. each day. There'll be hundreds of cute little dogs and cats there looking for a new home! Visit the event page for more information.

8. Bubble Battle Toronto 2015

Remember Newmindspace, the hosts who brought you the massive pillow fight? They're hosting a bubble battle on June 6th at Old City Hall. Bring all your bubble weapons and prepare for battle. Join the event page if you're attending!


9. Dundas West Fest

For the third year in a row, Dundas West will be taken over by the Dundas West Fest! It's happening June 6th and it's a celebration of arts, community, and everything local. Not a lot of info has been released about the event yet, but you can keep checking their website.


10. Festival of India Launch Party @ Yonge-Dundas Square

The 43rd Annual Festival of India is happening July 18th to 19th this year, and to get you ready for that, a huge launch party will be held at Dundas Square on June 7th. There'll be a whole bunch of activities, attractions, performances, live art, vegetarian cooking demonstrations, free yoga classes, a South Asian bazaar, delicious food, henna tattoos, face painting, dress-in-a-saree booths, and so much more. There'll also be an interactive mantra concert in which ancient sounds from the east will take over the square! This is only a preview of what will be happening at the actual festival. 11. John Frieda Launch @ Yonge-Dundas Square

On June 11th, come down to Dundas Square to check out the John Frieda Style Dome. From 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. you'll be able to get a complimentary hair style by a top John Frieda stylist. You'll also receive a customized gift bag and have the opportunity to see your fab new look displayed on the giant media board overlooking the square. It's first come first serve, so get there early!


12. World Naked Bike Ride

Do you ever just want to let loose and be free? On June 13th, the World Naked Bike Ride is happening at Coronation Park. Participants are encouraged to “Bare What You Dare,” meaning you can remove as much or as little clothing as you want.

13. Toronto Art Crawl @ Liberty Village

On June 13th, make your way to Liberty Village for this awesome single-day outdoor art fair. Over 65 artists and designers will be present and there'll be live DJs and food vendors. Whatever you're looking for – art, photography, fashion, pet fashion, sculptures, woodworkers, metal workers, home decor, handbags – you name it, they have it!


14. Session Toronto Craft Beer Festival @ Yonge-Dundas Square

BEER LOVERS! Check out this awesome craft beer festival happening June 13th at Dundas Square! There's going to be live music, food vendors, and of course, craft beer. There will be a Collaboration Nation event, where craft breweries will team up with celebrity partners to create unique beer for you to try. Vote for your favourite beer and the winning one will have their product featured on LCBO shelves across Ontario!


15. Toronto Watergun Fight 2015

On June 14th, grab your best waterguns and get ready to get soaked in the sun. There is no designated location at the moment, so keep checking the event page for updates.


16. Annex Festival on Bloor

Here's a block party that's ACTUALLY happening in the city. Come celebrate this huge block party on Bloor. Enjoy live music, entertainment, buskers, theatre performances, a Children’s Village, and over 115 food vendors, local businesses, and artisans. Happening June 14th between Bathurst and Spadina!


17. Walking Wave @ Lakeshore

Come hang out for a day of fun on June 14th on Lakeshore! There'll be community-building art including painting, printmaking, and puppetry along the waterfront, as well as a parade celebrating music, art, and dance. Be sure to wear shades of blue, white, and green to create a cool human wave! The parade starts at 2 P.M.

18. City Cinema @ Yonge-Dundas Square

Free movies, say what? Dundas Square will be playing free films on various dates throughout the summer! Bring some lawn chairs and join in at sunset on June 16th, 23rd, and 30th. The films and schedules haven't been released yet, but you can keep checking for updates here. Or, you could let it be a surprise.


19. Redpath Waterfront Festival @ Harbourfront

Join in on the festivities June 19th to 21st for a weekend of great performances, games, and activities. There will be a parade on the opening night at 8 P.M. along Queens Quay, plus sporting and stunting events featuring dogs all weekend! They're even hosting Sweetness Pride Beach Party at Sugar Beach which will feature LGBTQ DJs, a licensed beach bar, and food trucks. It's gonna be a hell of a weekend at this festival!


20. TD Toronto Jazz Festival

From June 18th to 29th, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival is happening! There will be many free performances happening at Nathan Phillips Square, including both lunchtime and general concerts. Let out your inner jazz!


21. Taste of Little Italy

From June 19th to 21st, taste, eat, and explore Toronto's Little Italy at the 16th annual Taste of Little Italy! There'll be Italian and indie bands and DJs, local artisans and craftspeople, and so much more for you to enjoy. The celebrations last until 2 A.M. on the Friday and Saturday for all you night owls.


22. Pride Toronto

Guess who's back? PRIDE TORONTO! An estimated 1.2 million people attend every year to celebrate Toronto’s LGBTTIQQ2SA communities. Join in on all the celebrations from June 19th to 28th. There are a whole bunch of free events you can attend, all listed on their website!

23. Luminato Festival

Also happening June 19th to 28th is the Luminato Festival! Check out Glossary, a light and sculpture installation created for the festival by Regina Silveira. Also check out the New Canadian Music Series at David Pecaut Square, which will showcase up-and-coming Canadian talent. There are both free and ticketed events. 24. NXNE @ Yonge-Dundas Square

Who can say no to free concerts? As always, NXNE is hosting free shows at Dundas Square. Secret Sun, Pang Attack, Most People, Mise en Scene, Little Scream, Dilly Dally, Best Coast, and The New Pornographers will be playing on June 20th. Nüe, Casey Veggies, and Ty Dolla $ign will be playing on June 21st.


25. Live Art Festival

Live art at this live art festival! The Live Art Festival combines mural, street, and community arts under one roof. The festival includes live painting, performances, and the creation of five iconic murals on pillars facing Lower River Street! Check out this PanAm Games Art Relay event on June 20th from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M., south of 33 St. Lawrence Street.


26. First Story Toronto Tours @ Fort York

As part of the PanAm Games, take part in Art Relay's First Story Toronto Tours! From June 20th to 26th, bask in Toronto’s history and heritage through a series of walking, biking, and bus tours along the lakeshore. On June 20th from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M., the tours connect to the Live Art Festival. You can sign up for tours on their website.


27. The 2nd annual Chessfest @ Harbourfront Centre

Are you a master of chess? The second annual Chessfest is happening at Harbourfront Centre from June 20th to 21st. From 11 A.M. to 6 P.M., show off your chess skills or practice if you're not that good.

28. Poochella @ Trinity Bellwoods Park

Do you love dogs? Trinity Bellwoods Park is being taken over by a dog festival on June 21st! There'll be a pooch photobooth for you to snap pics and create gifs, a pooch show with awards, as well as a local dog pound on site for you to play with pups and maybe even adopt if you want. Be sure to join the event page if you're attending!


29. Aboriginal History Month Celebration @ Yonge-Dundas Square

On June 24th, the 6th annual Aboriginal History Month event is happening at Dundas Square. There'll be entertainers including Black Stone, Powwow Dance Bootcamp, Métis Fiddler Quartet, and Canadian duo Digging Roots. There'll also be an all day Kid's Arts & Crafts Tent as well as craft vendors. Join in on the fun!


30. Dancing on the Pier @ Harbourfront

Have you ever thought of dancing on the shores of Lake Ontario? On June 25th, join one of Toronto’s most popular Cuban music groups, Son Ache, for an evening of dancing on the pier! Happening at the Boulevard Tent at Harbourfront Centre.


31. Indie Fridays @ Yonge-Dundas Square

Dundas Square's Indie Friday concerts are back for another summer! The first one is happening this month on June 26th. Bands and schedules haven't been released yet, but you can keep checking for updates here.


32. Sportsmanship Under Surveillance @ Sur Gallery

As part of PanAm Games' Art Relay, Sur Gallery is displaying the Sportsmanship Under Surveillance exhibition, its theme being art in the age of government surveillance. Artists Juan Ortiz-Apuy, Jota Castro, Minerva Cuevas, Marcos Ramírez ERRE, and Regina Silveira will offer their insights on how to adapt, control, rebel, and live under government surveillance through their work. Enjoy the show June 27th to August 8th.

33. Toronto Ribfest @ Centennial Park

The 16th annual Toronto Ribfest is happening June 27th to July 1st. There'll be three stages with various bands and performers, a wedding (what?!), a PanAm Heroes celebration, and even fireworks on Canada Day! Admission is free, but a $2 donation will be requested at the gate, which will go towards humanitarian organizations in Canada and around the world. For more details, check out their website.


34. Kensington Market Art Fair

The Kensington Market Art Fair is happening for yet another year. The KMAF is an annual curated outdoor art fair featuring artists working in painting, drawing, illustration, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and more. It happens the last Sunday of every month from May to October, and it's happening the 28th of June. Don't forget to join the event page if you're attending.


35. Game of Thrones LARP Battle @ Trinity Bellwoods Park

On June 28th, gather your best armour and weapons and prepare to battle for the Iron Throne at Trinity Bellwoods Park. The battle begins at 3 P.M., but arrive at 2:30 to allow for preparations, rules, and battle planning. There'll be three game masters refereeing the game. Non-players are welcome to watch, but are asked to keep their distance. Be sure to join the event page if you're attending!
