It's official, December is finally here and the countdown to Christmas has started. With winter finally upon us, this weekend is filled with festive skating rinks, light ceremonies, and gift markets popping up throughout the city. If you're looking to get out and explore the city this weekend here are 9 things to do in Toronto.

The city is gearing up for the season and Torontonians are getting ready to celebrate everything Christmas. This time of year is anything but dull, especially with all of the winter festivals, lights around the city, and general buzz in the air.

DJ ice skating rinks are also opening up this weekend and will be around for the rest of the season. So get ready to make some plans and enjoy the winter.

A lot of what Toronto has in store right now is only available for a few months, so it's a good idea to take advantage.

However, if you aren't in the Christmas spirit just yet, there are a ton of great shows and stand-up comedy to look forward to this weekend.

Even if you don't like the cold, the charm is definitely in the air right now. So grab a friend, loved one, or even just yourself, and head out to these events that will be sure to keep you busy all weekend long.
