We all like to wine and chill from time to time, to whatever extent. And you can take that to the next level in Ontario in January thanks to Canada’s largest icewine festival. Niagara Icewine Festival will be taking over the region starting Friday, Jan. 10, and we couldn’t be more excited.

If you’ve never tasted icewine before, it’s basically dessert in a glass. So, it’s safe to say the festival is going to be super sweet.

The Twenty Valley Winter Winefest in Jordan Village marks the official start of the magical icewine festivities this Friday.

This epic street party will feature food, drinks, celebrities, competition, and so much more.

As the name suggests, wine is the focal point here. But there is so much more to look forward to as this festival progresses in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

You can enjoy everything from ice sculptures to fancy galas and even a snow globe soiree, where you can eat and drink from inside an incredible igloo dome near the falls.

So if you’re looking for things to do in Toronto this weekend, why not venture out to Niagara for some chilly, boozy fun with your besties?

While the festival officially closes Jan. 26, certain aspects of the event will be ongoing until Feb. 16.

So, you can enjoy them almost all winter long.

The bulk of the Icewine Festival will actually take place Jan. 17-19 and Jan. 24-26. The snow globe soiree will happen on Thursdays to Sundays from Jan. 16 until Feb. 16.

During the festival, you can visit over 30 participating wineries, each with their own special food and wine pairings.

Some spots even have cute little fire pits for you to stay warm and cozy.

To take advantage of as many wineries as possible, you can buy a discovery pass. It costs $45 or $35 for designated drivers and includes entry to eight wineries of your choice.

If you’re going with a friend, you even have the option to split one discovery pass. So, the two of you could visit four wineries together!

How's that for a day out?
