When in doubt, take the scenic route. Nothing calms the mind quite like a peaceful walk through nature. And with all of its babbling brooks, floating boardwalks, and hidden gems, this Ontario conservation area will bring a whole new level of serenity to your nightly stroll.

Located in Halton Hills, Ont., Silvercreek Conservation Area is just under an hour from the 6ix and let us tell you, it’s totally worth the drive.

Not only will you be able to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, but it’s also the perfect place to discover some of nature's most beautiful secrets.

You’ll be able to explore sections of boardwalk that wind through lush forests, unearth numerous hidden waterfalls, and cross over some of the cutest footbridges we’ve ever laid eyes on.

Sections of the famous Bruce Trail cross through the 1,080-acre area as well, so you just know it’s going to be a breathtaking experience.

There are no admission fees to enter Silvercreek, but you should note parking in the area is limited to just a few roadside spots.

And, as there's a bunch of threatened wildlife here, it's also important to stay on the designated trails to protect their natural habitats.

There are numerous trails for you to wander in the area ranging from a short and sweet 0.8 km to a more ambitious 6.3 km in length.

But, no matter which path you choose, rest assured you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of cascading waters and chirping birds.

Basically, your whole hiking adventure will feel like one big meditation retreat. That's a vibe we're here for.

At the time of writing, this conservation area does not require reservations but it is open on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This means staff will be around to limit the number of conservation area visitors to ensure safe physical distancing is possible for everyone.

So if you're looking for a quiet place to take a deep breath and reconnect with nature, this little Ontario gem might be just what you need.
