Mark your calendars, because you'll finally soon be able to visit the Royal Ontario Museum again. After months of closure, the ROM is coming back from extinction and will reopen its doors to the public soon. So don't forget to bring your mask, because the ROM's reopening date was just revealed and it includes safety regulations.

Today, the ROM announced in a press release made available to Narcity that it is reopening its doors on July 11, 2020.

The news comes days after Toronto entered stage two on Wednesday, June 24.

In the release, the museum outlined that its permanent collection and 40 galleries will be available to explore this summer.

As you might expect, new regulations have been put in place in order to maintain a safe, clean environment.

All visitors and staff are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.

Temporary hours have been put in place, and the museum will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Admission is limited, and timed tickets must be purchased in advance.

It should be noted that some parts of the attraction will remain closed until a later date.

These include the bat cave, CIBC Discovery Gallery, and Patrick and Barbara Keenan Family Gallery of Hands-on Biodiversity.

The Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic exhibit, which launched just before the museum closed in March, will also be returning at a later date.

During the closure, the ROM launched #ROMatHome so that audiences could enjoy the venue through virtual tours, live videos, and more.

The online programs will continue to be offered even while the museum is reopened.

Tickets go back on sale to the public on July 7 and cost $23 per adult.

ROM members can enjoy early access to tickets on July 6 and the museum on July 9.

This makes the ROM the latest of several large attractions around Toronto which have announced their reopening plans this week.

The Toronto Zoo, Casa Loma, and Ripley's Aquarium, for instance, have all revealed that they will be back in business for the summer.

Soon, you can enjoy another of the city's popular museums once more this summer by heading out to the ROM!
