You don’t always need to leave the city in order to escape it. Just outside of Toronto, you'll find a stunning nature park in Mississauga. With boardwalk trails, waterfront views, and fields of flowers, you’re going to want to visit this little gem ASAP.

The Riverwood Conservancy is a 150-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Mississauga.

The area combines nature and art for a truly peaceful experience that you’ll want to keep coming back to.

You won’t be able to miss the conservancy entrance which is marked with a huge “Pine Sanctuary” art installment that looks like a cluster of palm trees for you stand under.

Further into the park, you can wander past wetlands and ponds on the winding boardwalk, or get your sunflower selfie on at one of the many gardens that bloom throughout the area.

You’ll also find a handful of historic buildings like an old barn and a charming heritage house.

So if you want to discover something new without travelling way up north, then the Riverwood Conservancy is the spot for you.

Animal lovers will be delighted at the wildlife sightings that are possible here.

You could find yourself face-to-face with a variety of owls, hawks, deer, foxes, and more when you visit.

And since the area is home to so many wildlife and plant species, it’s as important as ever to keep it clean and always use the waste and recycling bins on site.

The Credit River runs alongside this peaceful spot so you can look out on the true blue waters while you wander.

At the time of writing parking, lots at Riverwood are open and free to use. However, the buildings on the property are closed until further notice.
