With the snow, ice, and cold weather that comes with winter, it's easy to want to bury yourself under blankets and just binge a favourite show on Netflix. But Toronto is dangling a proverbial carrot to get more people out to the city's attractions and events this winter. Toronto Spotlight is a new campaign promoting the idea that adventure hunting isn't only a summer thing. And who can say "no" to two-for-one tickets?\nA collaborative campaign between the city and Toronto Tourism, the scheme is offering two-for-the-price-of-one tickets and other special offers over four weekends up to the beginning of March.\nAnd the list of attractions taking part is impressive, to say the least. The CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, the Ontario Science Centre, Toronto Zoo, and Casa Loma are just some of the spots joining in.\nSpotlight will run every weekend from Jan. 31 to March 1. Each of those weekends will feature their own unique offers. A full list of all the hot spots that you and your person of choice can check out for half price is here.\nAnd trust us when we say it'd take you a long time to get bored with the options available.\nWhether you are interested in art, museum, theatre or just checking out one of Toronto's most iconic buildings, it's all here and two-for-one in price!\nThis morning I joined @SeeTorontoNow to launch #TorontoSpotlight, an initiative to shine a light on Toronto during the winter to encourage visitors to get out and enjoy all that this city has to offer in the winter season. pic.twitter.com/ygR8kKaRAv— John Tory (@JohnTory) January 8, 2020\nSo, if you've been wanting to hit up Fort York or the Steamwhistle Brewery, check out Toronto's Haunted Walk, or finally take part in Medieval Times, now's your chance to grab your BFF or your significant other and party like it's 2020.\nMayor John Tory announced the Toronto Spotlight campaign through a video posted on his Twitter account on Wednesday, Jan. 8.\nIn a follow-up message, Tory said: "Wintertime is a good time and we are making it clear this is the right time to visit Toronto."\nView this post on Instagram #terralumina #torontozoo #2099 #toronto A post shared by Rahul Tej (@rahultej_18) on Jan 7, 2020 at 10:46pm PST\nScott Beck, president and CEO of Toronto Tourism, stated in the media release that Toronto Spotlight is an "open invitation" to explore the city while it has "brighter lights and longer nights."\nBeck also encouraged anyone interested in the first two Spotlight weekends to check out Winterlicious, which runs Jan. 31 to Feb. 13.\nThe city's annual culinary event features fixed price menus at more than 200 restaurants and a number of other culinary events.\nView this post on Instagram "We enjoyed the aquarium so much.
