You Can Sip Over 100 Different Wines At Toronto's First Vegan Wine Fair Next Month
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Humane Society and Love Puppies.
Attention all wine lovers! The Social Herbivore is hosting the first-of-its-kind vegan wine fair on December 5 and early bird tickets are available until November 15. Toronto's vegan wine fair will have over 100 different wines that are made without animal products available for you to taste.
This vegan- friendly event will offer over 100 different wines from a variety of locations such as New Zealand, Ontario, and Gargoyle Wine Club.
Luckily, all of the wines, as well as food will all be vegan, so you can splurge all you want without having to worry about any animal products.
Many wines are clarified in a process called 'fining.' This is done to filter out unwanted impurities that give us wine without unfiltered particles still in it.
Most wineries use animal products as the filter agents, which is what makes a lot of wine non-vegan. The animal products they use are often egg whites, milk protein, or fish bladder protein. However, this fair is dedicated to only vegan wines that don't use these filters.
The event is hosted by The Social Herbivore, which is dedicated to bringing perfect wine pairings with vegan food so that you can get the most out of a wine-and-dine experience.
The event will take place just before Christmas, allowing you to shop for all your Christmas goodies while sipping on some delicious wine.
There will be charcuterie boards made by the Wandering Deli, so that you can also snack while you shop.
Of course, all of these cheeseboards, are in fact, vegan.
Cupcakes and sweets will also be made by Have A Heart Bakeshop.
Allowing you to also pick up some vegan-friendly treats to either indulge in by yourself, or to gift to a friend.
There will also be a pop-up shop by the Queen V, Toronto's first, all vegan, cruelty-free, natural and eco-friendly boutique shop.
This event is for everyone, not just vegans, and there are so many cool products and food to enjoy along with the wine.
"Whether it's a full lifestyle overhaul, or embracing 'meatless Mondays' we think every small change contributes to a big wave so we're adding a splash of fun to the mix by creating perfect pairings for plant-based cuisine." says Rao in a news release.
The selection of wine will include organic, sustainable and biodynamic options from Ontario and all over the world.
A portion of the proceeds from the tickets will go to the and Love Puppies. These are both organizations that focus on animal protection and welfare in Canada.
