You Won't Believe These Magical Places Exist In Toronto
You'll have to see it to believe it!
When people think of Canada, they automatically think of Toronto. Lets move past all of the stereotypes and just say that Toronto is a beautiful city. From the views (definitely not a Drake reference), to the culture, to the beautiful nature in and around the city, Toronto is a great place to call home.
Also, when you hear the world magical, you probably think of Harry Potter. Unfortunately, nothing from that movie will be making this list, but think real life magic! From coffee shops to eateries to hidden rainbows on a trail, this list will show you a few magical places in Toronto.
Where: 1094 Yonge Street
Let's start with food, shall we? Food is magical on it's own, but put it together with stunning decor and there is truly nothing better. Pantry is a great restaurant that serves gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan food! Of course, you can get one of the other, depending on your preference but they do combos so you can get so much food!
Can we talk about the decor for a second? Looking at it you may get dizzy but in the best way possible. It's so sleek, modern, and beautiful which makes it magical. If you love eating healthy but are super tired of the same chicken, rice and veggies, then make a stop here. While they do serve all of those things, they make it so much more flavourful and fun to eat! Oh, and of course, they serve bomb coffee as well.
Where: Don Trail, North York
Have you ever wanted to see a rainbow reaaaallly up close? Well, here's your chance! This landmark in Toronto is called the Rainbow Tunnel and it was designed in the 1970s by a Norwegian teenager who just wanted the city to be brighter. Can we blame him!? This tunnel, which is located on the Don Valley Parkway, is great for long walks if you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city.
It gets repainted every few years to keep its brightness, and we definitely don't mind. This little hidden gem is perfect for a city with a lot of colour already!
Where: 351 Glen Stewart Ravine
Have you ever been in the middle of the city, and then immediately wanted to be in nature? Sometimes (especially in the summer), the city can be so hot and busy and not exactly the most fun. About a 30-minute drive from downtown Toronto you'll find Glen Stewart Ravine. It's basically an outdoor oasis that has a ton of stairs (good for your legs!) but it's surrounded by so many trees.
This boardwalk could be mistaken for heaven. There are benches along the way so if you're tired of walking (I can relate), you can sit down and just take it all in. It's about 0.8 miles and takes about 15 minutes, so you could always do it a few times to get in a great workout!
Where: 513 Queen St West
You may be thinking, "Okay ... graffiti. Cool. So what?" Soooo imagine having an entire building, alley, and more of graffiti! And not just bubble letters, like real motivational quotes, cool artwork, and so much more. Graffiti Alley is one of the best hidden gems in Toronto. No matter if you're looking to tour the city or take a cool Instagram picture, this is the right place to be.
Graffiti Alley actually goes for three blocks of just pure graffiti. Hi, can I move there, please? You'll find so many cool designs here and it's actually a perfect place to just roam with an iced coffee! You really can't tell me this place isn't magical ...
Where: 920 Queen St W
I had to include a cafe because ... I'm human? What cafe isn't magical? Let's be real here, coffee is one of the most magical things on earth. Thank you to whoever realized that beans could make something so delicious. Anyways! Mercat DEL Carmen is a magical coffee shop that's also part marketplace. So to sum it up, it's perfect.
This European-inspired cafe is perfect if you want a cute Instagram or the perfect cup of coffee. This cafe will really have you feeling like you're roaming the streets of a Euporean city, and then just stop in to check it out but end up staying for hours and wanting to try everything on the menu. This coffee shop is magical because it's truly unlike anything else in the city!
I know I'm stating the obvious here, but hang tight. The Toronto Islands are popular for a reason, and that reason being the view. When you go to New York City, and you're constantly in the depths of all the buildings, it's hard to imagine what it looks like from the outside view. Then you on onto the Brooklyn Bridge and the view leaves you breathless. Well, that's the same reason we love the Toronto Islands.
No matter if it's summer, fall, winter, or spring, the views are stunning. It's just a short ten-minute ferry ride from downtown Toronto, and you get to stand there and take it all in. How can you not find this magical?! If you don't, hop on a ferry and get to the other side and watch the sunset. I promise you'll like it then!
