Buntzen Lake

Distance From Vancouver: 1 hour

Looking for some peace and quiet? Head up to Anmore and go for a walk on the Buntzen Lake trail. This trail Buntzen Lake loops all around the lake and crosses a suspension bridge! Doing this mini-road trip is great if you're craving fresh air without all the fuss of driving very far.


Dickens Sweets & Museum

Distance From Vancouver: 2 hours

Cruise on over to Chilliwack and check out this hidden gem. It's a British sweet shop and museum that's absolutely brimming with cool stuff! This is the only place around you can find classic British food, treats and memorabilia. 

Fraser Valley Cider Company

Distance From Vancouver: 1 hour 30 minutes

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter—to me, any season is the season for cider! This spot is literally hidden in the Langley countryside and it's absolutely adorable. You can taste a bunch of different ciders made on site with a cider flight and pick up affordable bottles to take home. The farm setting backdrop is beautiful and the nearby orchards look lovely in Spring! 

Cloverdale Market

Distance From Vancouver: 45 minutes

You can buy almost anything at the Cloverdale Flea Market but Spring means that it's time for buying plants and flowers! The flea market is seriously fun to shop at and you'll find everything from old Archie comics and vintage clothes to retro housewares and jewellery. The only thing is you have to come early to get the best deals and finds!

Fort Langley

Distance From Vancouver: 55 minutes

Whether you like visiting the actual historic fort or you just like to browse the stacks at Wendel's Bookstore, a road trip to Fort Langley is full of possibilities. There are a ton of amazing restaurants, coffee shops and unique shops to discover. This is one of the most romantic places in the Lower Mainland that you could take your s/o!

Steveston Village

Distance From Vancouver: 35 minutes

If your s/o loves Fish & Chips then there's no better place to take them than Steveston Village. This is where they film Once Upon a Tim so you know it's basically like a storybook perfect little town. There are book shops, coffee shops, and even an amazing Juice truck location here! Walk along the waterfront, check out what's fresh on the dock and have a greasy meal together.

Field House Brewing

Distance From Vancouver: 1 hour

Most craft breweries put a lot of thought, effort and care into their beer but then the food they serve tends to be an afterthought. Not true at Field House Brewing in Abbotsford. This is one of the most fun places to go in the Fraser Valley with your s/o on a road trip! Just be sure to limit your actual beer intake and pick up some beer to take home instead. 

Bowen Island

Distance From Vancouver: 1 hour and 15 minutes

You can be somewhere totally different in just over an hour when you head out to Bowen Island. Plus, the 20-minute ferry ride is super fun! There's a lot to explore here from the little village by the ferry to the mountains, parks and trails dotted throughout the island. Don't forget to visit Branch and Butter right when you step off the ferry to check out their adorable shop and maybe get some cheeky springtime ice cream!

Maplewood Farm

Distance From Vancouver: 20 minutes

Animal-lovers heading out on a road trip should make a stop at Maplewood Farms in North Vancouver. Meet the sheep, cows, goats, ducks and donkeys that call this lovely place home. Plus, this spot is not to far from Deep Cove if you wanted to go hiking, kayaking or just visit Honey's Doughnuts.

Victoria Caledonian Brewery & Distillery

Distance From Vancouver: 3 hours

Road trip to the Island? Do a tour at this brewery for a behind-the-scenes look at how whiskey and beer are made. They have a bunch of tour offerings, including a Chocolate and Whiskey tour! This would be a fun way to break up a long drive. 


Distance From Vancouver: 20 minutes

If your boyfriend is looking a little shaggy on the top or could use some new threads, then you have to take him to this stylish spot in North Vancouver. Goodlad is a clothing store, barber shop and coffee shop! You can flat lay your coffee for as long as you like while he tidies himself up and then joins you to split a cookie. This is the perfect way to make running errands together fun!

Chilliwack Tulip Festival

You seriously need to check out the tulip festival this Spring! It's just an hour away in Chilliwack and it's totally worth the trip. You and your s/o can romantically wander through the tulip fields snapping photos and stealing kisses along the way.
