Lonsdale Quay is the perfect destination for anyone looking to take a day trip away from the busy streets of downtown Vancouver without traveling too far out of their way.

Easily accessible by taking a short ride on the SeaBus, the quay is home to a variety of attractions, including a market and a lookout point, as well as a series of cute restaurants and cafes. It's the perfect place to just relax and wander around for the day, and then maybe stop and grab a meal or a coffee later on.

If you're looking for something a bit more exciting than a walk, Lonsdale Quay also offers a ton of other events this summer. Consider trying out one of these six activities for your next day trip.

1. Participate in the Great Zucchini Races.

The big event will take place on August 20th, giving you plenty of time to brainstorm ways to create the best zucchini vehicle ever. The rules are fairly simple: it must be able to run uphill on all four of its wheels. There are prizes to be won, so get started!

2. Attend a free yoga class.

Yoga Thursdays take place every Thursday (duh) from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM in the main plaza at the quay. Bring your own mat and try something new this summer. You can't go wrong when it's free!

3. Play a piano as part of "Pianos on the Streets".

Not only does it help support local organizations, but it also helps to bring the community together. Show off your mad musical skills at the piano which will be located near Bean Around the World!

4. Learn to dance.

Dance classes are being offered at the quay from 12:30pm to 4pm most Saturdays for the rest of the summer. You know that deep down you've always wanted to be ridiculously good at doing the Salsa, so stop on by and learn something new.

5. Pick up some neat stuff at the Farmer's Market.

The market takes place every Saturday from 10am-3pm. There's something for everyone, from fresh produce to baked goods, and even jewelry and pottery. If you're really lucky, there's sometimes even live music and entertainment, too.
