A big part of Vancouver lifestyle is living healthy and that means eating fresh. The city has many awesome farmers' markets for your weekly groceries or perfect to peruse on an adorable date. It is not only a place to shop for the freshest produce, but also a place of interesting homemade crafts and local beers and wines. These markets turn Vancouver's streets into cute and entertaining hangout spots all throughout the week – it's time you check them out if you haven't already. There are different markets at different times and locations so this list will help coordinate your next organic outing. The food is all super tasty, but the ambiance is also something to appreciate. Have fun supporting local farmers this summer by eating only the best! 1. Downtown Market // Queen Elizabeth Theatre Every Thursday from 2 pm to 6 pm until the end of October. Get all the finest quality products from fresh fruit and vegetables to fish straight from the sea. They also have local craft beer, wine and spirits, as well as artisan crafts. 2. Trout Lake Market // Lakewood Dr and 13th Ave Every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm until October 22. This is the home of the original Vancouver farmers' market. All of the best breads, preserves, eggs and meats can be found here along with so much more. It's also a perfect place to picnic around the lake. 3. Kits Market // Kitsilano Community Centre Every Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm until October 23. There will be quality organic products here every weekend. West End Market // 1100 Comox St Every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm until October 22. This is always a very popular market because of it's great downtown location. It's right next to Nelson Park so after you get a few goodies, you'll have a nice peaceful place to enjoy them. 5. Main St Station Market // 1100 Station St Every Wednesday from 2 pm to 6 pm until October 5. Right next to Science World Skytrain Station, this laid-back market is great if you want to pick up some fresh food on your commute. They've got some local honey that is really terrific and because it's less crowded you have the time to talk directly with the producers. 6. Mt Pleasant Market // 2300 Guelph Street Every Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm until October 9. This is a newer market, founded in 2013, but it's still a wonderful place to pick up some fresh vegetables and fish for dinner. It's a common spot to walk your dog. They also sell flowers perfect for your big date. 7. Ambleside Market // Bellevue St between 15th and 16th St Every Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm until October 30. If you live in West Van, you don't have to travel far for the freshest local products. There is a varied selection of BC crafts, clothing, jewelry and food, often with live music to shop to. 8. Lonsdale Quay Market // 123 Carrie Cates Ct Every Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm until October 29. Hanging out in North Van on the weekend? This chill farmers' market has a selection of some of the best organic salsas, pottery crafts, and artwork for sale. Squamish Market // Cleveland Ave and Victoria St Every Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm until October 29. If you are traveling along Sea to Sky, this market is totally worth checking out.
