All The Free Activities You Can Do In Vancouver This Long Weekend
From parades, to festivals, to nature hikes!
The Victoria Day long weekend is nearly here - rally up your friends and family and enjoy all the many free events that are happening around town!
Burnaby Village Museum is the place to be on Victoria Day for those who really want to celebrate the Queen's Birthday. You can find special entertainment including dancers, live bands, and a parade, all for free!
The Fort Langley May Day Parade will be held on May 21, and will include a large morning parade, afternoon community fair in the park, and Victoria Day activities at the historic fort. Viewing the parade is free, and is a great small community event to experience!
Get into the festivities at a Royal Victorian Party, where anyone can enjoy this regal event with live dancing and birthday cake to honour Queen Victoria. Admission is free, and it will be held at Historic Stewart Farm, from 11am till 3pm on May 20.
Luckily for us here in Vancouver, the flowers are in full bloom! Visit Queen Elizabeth Park and enjoy the blooms along the pathways and bridges - and enjoy the views of the city and mountains surrounding!
Experience one of Vancouver's many markets - although the famous Richmond Night Market charges an admission fee, there are countless markets with free admission including the Shipyard's Night Market, Artisan Farmers' Market, Vancouver Farmer's Markets, and more!
The Vancouver Comic Arts Festival will be happening on May 19 and 20, a two-day celebration of comics and graphic novels and their creators, including an exhibition and a fair featuring hundreds of creators from around the world. Admission is free, and it will be held at Roundhouse Community Centre!
If art is your thing, the Chali Rosso Art Gallery is showcasing a free Salvador Dali exhibition up until September as part of the Definitely Dali Project!
Vancouver Aquarium will be having a pop-up installation at Tsawwassen Mills this long weekend, featuring live marine animal touching sessions, marine themed activities, and a wide variety of artifacts! The pop-up will be up from May 19 till 21, from 1pm till 5pm daily.
There are also countless free activities in Vancouver on a regular weekend - visiting the H.R. Macmillan Space Centre Observatory to stargaze, playing beach volleyball at Kitsilano Beach, or even taking a road trip to one of the we have here in Vancouver!
