Your new happy place is only a short drive away. Tucked away from the bustling city, you can cool off at an unbelievable natural pool. So drag your crew this weekend, and have a splashing good time at Alouette Lake in B.C.

One hour from Vancouver is Golden Ears Provincial Park, one of the largest parks in the province. There is no better spot in the summertime than right here on the water.

When visiting, you'll want to head to the South Beach day-use area. There, you'll find a beach that is a mix of sand and pebbled stones.

Unlike city pools, here you'll float surrounded by mountains and trees. It is a spectacular and peaceful sight.

Just make sure to stay within the marked swimming areas, as the rest of the water is used by water-skiers and windsurfers enjoying an exciting time.

If you want to go boating, that is an option too. From May until Labour Day, there are canoes, kayaks and pedal boats available for rent.

So go ahead and explore the coastline, who knows what you might find.

In the day-use area, there is everything you need to spend the afternoon. There you'll find handy changing rooms, picnic tables and barbeques perfect for grilling burgers.

As of Monday, July 27, there is a new system to visit the park. You now will need to get a pass to visit South Beach.

To get your free pass, you'll have to go to the Discover Camping website. They are valid for one car (and a maximum of eight people).

When registering, there are two options, morning for arrivals before 1:00 p.m. and afternoon for people arriving after 1:00 p.m.

Ready to spend the day splashing your troubles away? Go ahead and message your BFF and see if they are interested in going swimming.
