An Italian-Themed Night Market Is Hitting Vancouver And We're Hungry AF
We're talking authentic Italian , not an im-pasta.
What's better than Italian food? More Italian food. But maybe don't rush off to Anton's - you're still cringing from the last time you tried to win that stupid pen. How about a night market? Not Richmond or Lonsdale quay, that's so last June. We're talking about a full-blown, Italian-themed night market that's hitting Vancouver for the rest of summer.
The Mercato Italian Night Market is held at the Il Centro Italian Cultural Centre every third Friday of the month. The market features over 50 vendors including authentic Italian food, local artisans and wineries, food trucks, as well as music and entertainment.
Lets talk about the food though, because that's why you really clicked. Besides the multiple food trucks (including Cannoli King), signature Italian dishes are crafted by Il Centro's very own chef. Mix that in with their fresh, local produce and their farm-to-table approach and you've got a meal that's to-die-for.
Another standout point of the festival is Gillespie's craft limoncello. Ever try limoncello before? Let alone craft limoncello? If you didn't know, limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur that hails from Southern Italy. The best part? It tastes like candy! It's every addictive lemon candy and lemon treat you've ever had, mixed in with alcohol. And you have to try it.
The night market takes place at 3075 Slocan Street in Vancouver. Their next market runs on July 21 from 5 PM - 9 PM, followed by August 18th. Best of all, entrance to the market is free!
