Vancouver's biggest cocktail party is happening in February and if you love booze, science and setting things on fire — you won't want to miss it. Science World's cocktail party will be serving up the most unique drinks in the city on Thursday, February 6. This is the best way to check out the insane space without any kids around since it's one big adults-only party.

There will be over 30 open bar cocktail stations and free food tastings included with your ticket.

"The mixology of cocktails really lends itself to science. So it was just a really fun combination of the two things," said Janet Wood, President and CEO of Science World to Narcity. "This was an experiment that went really well."

Travis Kallies, an award-winning bartender with the Donelly group, will be slinging cocktails at the event and spoke with Narcity.

"It's definitely turned into what I think is Vancouver's biggest cocktail event of the year... Probably the biggest one, I would say, in Canada," he said to Narcity.

"Cocktail creation is one part what we know works in terms of flavour combinations and spirit combinations and one part how do we take a very executable element of science and apply it," said Kallies.

"We've added an extra twist to it to make it a little bit more science-stuffed," he said.

Other bars have tried using science in cocktails but not on this level.

This party is way more fun than just hitting up a bar with friends because they inject a ton of fun and wow into each and every drink.

One drink to look out for is the Honeyed Old Fashioned. It's made with whiskey aged on honeycomb wax.

Over time, flavours from the honeycomb leak into the liquor giving it a subtle honeycomb taste.

If you're unable to make it, then you can still check out one of Vancouver's hidden bars for a good time.

Proceeds from the event go towards Science World's Class Field Trip Bursary program, a charity that sends underprivileged children to Science World, so you can feel good about each cocktail you sip.
