It seems these days that there are constantly new diners and breakfast joints opening up every week in Vancouver and it's crazy task trying to keep up. But sometimes, we get so hyped up about new restaurant openings that we forget about the oldies but goodies (emphasis on goodies).\nOne of those oldies being Deacon's Corner. With two locations in Gastown and Kitsilano, Deacon's Corner has been around since 2009 and has been serving up some of the most monstrous and delicious breakfast foods you've ever seen or tasted.\nLet's just begin with their Chicken & Waffles though because it is to die for. They plate you up with a big fat juicy piece of crunchy Southern Fried Chicken on a huge crispy waffle. Then add eggs on the side and tons of maple syrup...because your plate wasn't already full enough.\nBut the fried chicken goodness doesn't stop there. They serve almost anything and everything with a fat helping of fried chicken, like their Chicken & Biscuit with Gravy, Fried Chicken Grits, and their Chapel Hill & Chicken Biscuit which is basically fresh biscuit, crispy fried chicken, 2 fried egg, Swiss cheese, mushrooms, bacon, drizzled with sausage biscuit gravy served with hash brown.\nAnd if you think their chicken and waffles is good, wait till' you get a load of their Big Mountie sandwich. This isn't just your average BLT, no. This behemoth of a sandwich is three layers of French brioche bread jam packed with one layer of pulled pork and one layer of fried chicken, all topped with two fried eggs.\nvia @wolveswithhands\nAnd if you happen to drop by the Kitsilano location, you absolutely HAVE to get their Jalapeño & Cheese Tater Tots because...ughhhhhh. JUST LOOK:\nvia @eatwithusvancity\nThey're crispy, carby, cheesy, spicy, everything you've ever wanted in tater tot. Drown it in some ketchup and you've been sent to heaven.\nAnd just in case you needed a few more pictures of fried chicken...\nvia @admok\nvia @foodzillavancouver\nvia @magmei\nIf you're into super authentic, hole-in-the-wall type diners that aren't flooded with tourists and foodies Instagramming away at their brunch, or just downright love some good old comfort breakfast foods, Deacon's Corner is the spot for you.\nWhether you're waking up to a Sunday morning wanting a nice hefty brunch, or you've been parting until 6AM and in need of some hangover food, Deacon's Corner is sure to satisfy your tummy's every need.
