This Heart-Shaped Lake In Vancouver Is The Perfect Day Trip This Summer
Add this spot to your list!
If you're looking for the perfect spot to head to over the weekend, we've got the spot for you. A secluded lake with a hike where you can relax in the hot sun - what could be better?
This particular lake on Vancouver Island is surrounded by beautiful forestry, and is shaped like a heart!
The aptly named Heart Lake is nestled just outside of Ladysmith, and is a beautiful and tranquil location with some of the most picturesque scenery on Vancouver Island.
The lake is an easy hike along Holland Creek behind Ladysmith and then up a short, but quite steep section to Heart Lake. It is around a 6km round-trip hike, with all the trails well marked and visible - so it's hard to get lost!
Once you are there, you can relax on the large rock by the waterside, or you can even swim in the lake if the weather is warm enough - the water is serene and crisp.
Of course, it is hard to tell the lake is in the shape of a heart unless you are viewing it from above - however the novelty is there, and it is a beautiful lake with a beautiful name! It really is the perfect day trip from Vancouver.
