We've found your new happy place. Do you love spending time in the mountains? There's just something so peaceful about the fresh air and scenic views. If hiking is your cardio, you need to complete this hike near Vancouver that locals definitely don't want you to know about.\nNear Vancouver, there are so many extraordinary mountain top trails. However, hikes like St. Marks Summit and Stawamus Chief are challenging and can take several hours to complete.\nInstead, you can try the 5 kilometre Dog Mountain. It's a much easier adventure, and it's just 45 minutes from the city.\nThis local gem is so stunning that Vancouverites want to keep it all to themselves!\nTo begin, you'll need to head to Mount Seymour Provincial Park. From the parking lot, start walking toward the Mystery Peak Express chairlift, and follow the signs towards Dog Mountain and First Lake.\nTo stay on the path, make sure to follow the orange markers that are in the trees.\nWhile the path might look hard at first, it's easy enough if you're well prepared. There's minimal elevation gain, but there are sections where roots cover the path, and the ground can be slippery in some places.\nView this post on Instagram Views of Van. Sometimes the trail can remain covered with snow, even as late as June.\nTo split up the journey, Small Lake is a wonderful spot to sit down and rest your legs. After a quick break, you'll be ready for the final few steps to the rocky summit.\nView this post on Instagram Neature🌲 A post shared by Erica (@ericawebber) on Jul 14, 2018 at 5:10pm PDT\nThe view from the top is breathtaking.
