There are a few key things in Vancouver that you can't miss around the holidays and one of them is definitely catching a glimpse of Scuba Claus at the Aquarium. Whether you go every year to see the otters or just to bathe in the nostalgia, the Vancouver Aquarium's Christmas is a must-see every winter season.

This year, all of your favourite delights are coming back to the aquarium including the electric-eel powered Christmas tree, the jellyfish snowglobe and, of course, Scuba Claus.

In the 4-D theatre, where bubbles, fans and more create an experience that pulls you into the movie, they'll be playing the Polar Express.

While the Aquarium will be fully decked out in festive decor, their massive marine debris tree is the most showstopping holiday addition to the aquarium because it's made completely out of items that washed up on the shores of Vancouver Island.

If you love going to the aquarium because it's indoors, then you should also check out the Bloedel Conservatory.

Its giant glowing dome turns into a magical tropical paradise where you can warm up and stroll through a garden full of lights.

Since the holidays are a time to slow down, you should definitely treat yourself to a visit to the aquarium and give yourself permission to be a kid excited to see the fish again.

The mesmerizing jellyfish "snow globe" is the ultimate place to take a unique photo of just your silhouette.

Plus, the glow of the globe is so lovely and really gets you in the spirit of the holidays.

Animals that call the aquarium home like the penguins and the otters love winter, too.

Plus, if you squeeze a trip to the aquarium into your holiday schedule, you'll be able to wrap up your Christmas shopping in their epic under-the-sea themed gift shop.
